Role & responsibilities
Collect intrusion artefacts (e.g., source code, malware, Trojans) and use discovered data to enable mitigation of potential cyber defence incidents within the enterprise.
Coordinate and provide expert technical support to enterprise-wide cyber defence technicians to resolve cyber defence incidents
Coordinate IT functions.
Monitor overall incident response process inter of external data sources (e.g., cyber defence vendor sites, Computer Emergency Response Teams, Security Focus) to maintain currency of cyber defence threat conditions and determine which security issues may have an impact on the enterprise.
Perform cyber defence trend analysis and reporting.
Receive and analyse network alerts from various sources within the enterprise and determine possible causes of such alerts.
Write and publish after-action reviews.
Write and publish cyber defence techniques, guidance, and reports on incident findings to appropriate constituencies




Respond to reported incidents, identify their cause, and initiate the incident management process
Oversee the incident management process from detection and evaluation through resolution
Manage the incident response team
Prioritize detected incidents according to their urgency and potential impact on the business
Create and improve incident protocols regarding the response to cybersecurity threats
Maintain documentation of incidents and their resolution and provide incident status reports

Log and categorize recurring incidents to improve company incident management protocols.
