Civil Structural Engineers Role Summary: Responsible for basic and detailed civil & structural design of a thermal power plant. Will perform analysis, design, and coordination for foundations, structures, and plant buildings.
Role & responsibilities Perform design and analysis of foundations for heavy equipment (boilers, turbines, generators, coal/ash handling equipment, etc.).
Design RCC and steel structures (chimneys, cooling towers, silos, pipe racks, etc.).
Prepare design basis reports, calculations, and technical specifications.
Review geotechnical reports and incorporate soil data into foundation design.
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and C&I; teams for design interfaces.
Review vendor and subcontractor drawings for compliance.
Ensure designs meet IS codes, IBC, ACI, BS, and project-specific standards.
Support BOQ preparation and quantity estimations. Preferred candidate profile B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering /M.Tech in Structural 5 TO 12 years of experience in power plant civil & structural design. Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or equivalent structural analysis software. Sound knowledge of IS codes and international standards. Robust team coordination and communication skills.
