Job Summary The Heat Induction Handler is responsible for configuring induction coils, setting electrical frequencies, and feeding fastener blanks through automated or semi-automated induction heating systems. This role ensures that metal components reach accurate temperatures uniformly and are rapidly quenched to achieve the desired hardness, ductility, and structural integrity without distorting the product.
Key Responsibilities
Set up induction machinery by selecting and securing the correct induction heating coils, fixtures, and guides tailored to specific fastener sizes and grades.
Adjust process parameters including power output, current frequencies, heating cycle times, and automated conveyor or scanning speeds based on work orders.
Load and feed metal blanks or wire rods into the induction coil system, ensuring correct alignment for localized heating (e.g., heating just the tip for bolt head forging).
Execute quenching cycles using specified cooling media (water, oil, or polymer brine) to lock in metallurgical properties and prevent surface defects.
Conduct quality inspections using callipers, micrometers, and hardness testing equipment (Rockwell or Brinell scales) to verify that fasteners conform to blueprints.
Monitor equipment performance via thermal instruments, IR pyrometers, and gauges,
performing basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on cooling lines and coils.
Maintain production logs by accurately recording heat treatment temperatures, cycle details, part counts, and quality control test results.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Experience: Minimum 1–3 years operating induction heating systems, heat-treating furnaces, or high-temperature forging machinery in a metal manufacturing plant.
Metallurgical Knowledge: Basic understanding of steel grades (carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel) and how induction frequencies affect metal hardness and depth.
Tool & Gauge Proficiency: Experience using precision measurement tools and material hardness testers.
Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret technical work orders, manufacturing schedules, and engineering specifications.
Physical Stamina: Capable of working in loud, hot manufacturing settings, standing for long periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; vocational certifications in metallurgy, machining, or industrial technology are highly preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
