Key Responsibilities
Collect samples of raw materials, molding sand, molten metal, and finished castings.
Perform routine laboratory tests such as:
Sand testing (moisture, permeability, green compression strength, compactability) Chemical analysis, Hardness testing ,Metallographic sample preparation.
Record, analyze, and maintain accurate test reports.
Operate, clean, and calibrate laboratory equipment.
Maintain laboratory cleanliness and follow 5S practices.
Report abnormal test results to the Quality Engineer.
Maintain records according to quality management systems (ISO).
Qualifications
Diploma or ITI in Mechanical,
Metallurgy, Foundry Technology, or a related field.
1–2 years of experience in a foundry laboratory preferred.
Skills Required
Basic knowledge of foundry processes and materials.
Understanding of laboratory testing procedures.
Ability to operate testing instruments.
Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel and MS Word).
Attention to detail and robust observation skills.
Positive communication and teamwork.
