Summary – Manager – Government Business & GeM Strategy (AMEC Technology)

The Manager – Government Business & GeM Strategy is a leadership role focused on driving government sales through the GeM portal and other public procurement platforms. The position is responsible for identifying high-value government opportunities, building relationships with government buyers, managing the complete tender lifecycle, and generating significant business revenue for the company.

Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop government business opportunities through GeM, CPPP, Defence, PSUs, Railways, Smart Cities, Municipal Corporations, and other government procurement channels.
Research upcoming tenders, procurement plans, competitors, and market intelligence.
Build solid relationships with procurement officials, technical committees, consultants, EPC companies, and government agencies.
Manage the complete GeM tender process, including bid qualification, technical documentation, compliance, commercial submissions, reverse auctions, and order finalization.
Coordinate with internal teams (Engineering, Product, Finance, Operations, and Management)



to ensure successful bid execution.
Drive government sales targets and secure high-value purchase orders.

Experience & Skills
3–10+ years of experience in Government Business Development.
Solid expertise in GeM procurement, government tenders, bid management, reverse auctions, technical documentation, and public procurement.
Proven experience handling tenders ranging from ₹50 lakh to ₹50+ crore.
Strong negotiation, relationship management, presentation, and business development skills.
