Role & responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for flow battery systems, including battery stacks, electrolyte tanks, piping networks, pumps, manifolds, and enclosures.
Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation using tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Perform engineering calculations, basic structural FEA (Finite Element Analysis), and tolerance analysis to validate designs.
Collaborate with electrical, Automation, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams to integrate mechanical solutions into complete energy storage systems.
Support prototype development, testing, validation, and product qualification activities.
Select appropriate materials considering chemical compatibility, corrosion resistance, thermal performance, and cost.
Conduct root-cause analysis and implement design improvements based on testing and field performance data.
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) requirements are met.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations,
and customer specifications.
Preferred candidate profile
Primary Skills
Experience in Current Product Development with proven skill in concept generation, Design for Manufacturing and DFA.
Hydraulic System Design /Component Selection experience.
Excellent knowledge in Sheet-metal /Plastic Part Design.
Knowledge of Weldments & Structures
Proficient in CAD, both in 3D modelling and 2D Drafting using SolidWorks and Autocad.
Knowledge of Drawing and Drafting Standards (ISO/ASME).
Knowledge in basic Engineering calculations.
GD&T; and Tolerance Stack-up Analysis.
Experience in Electronics/Electrical Hardware Packaging.
Valuable communication and Interpersonal skills.
Experience working with cross functional teams.
Secondary /Desired Skills
Customer/onsite team independent handling experience
Ability to discharge duties with minimum guidance/supervision.
Cable Routing and Wire Harnessing.
Basic Knowledge in FEA. (Structural analysis)
