Role Description This is a full time, remote News Script Writer internship role. The intern will draft clear, concise, and engaging news scripts for video and digital segments based on daily editorial briefs and current events.

Responsibilities include researching stories, organizing key facts, and shaping scripts that align with the company’s editorial standards and production timelines. The role involves revising scripts based on feedback from producers and editors, adapting content for different formats and audiences, and coordinating with the video production team to ensure scripts are visually and narratively effective.



Interns will also assist in brainstorming story ideas and learn best practices in newsroom workflow and content planning.

Qualifications

Robust scriptwriting and scripting skills for news and short-form content.

Ability to develop screenplays or scripted segments that translate well to video.

Solid writing skills with a focus on clarity, structure, and tone appropriate for news.

Basic understanding of video production processes and how scripts support visual storytelling.

Ability to research topics quickly, verify information, and present facts accurately.

Comfort working with deadlines, editorial feedback, and collaborative workflows.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a program in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, Film, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Reliable internet connection and ability to work effectively in a remote setting.

Interest in news, current events, and ethical journalism practices.
