Robotics is incubated at the IIT Madras Research Park and supported by the I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC) and IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation. Team members join a growing organisation committed to making cutting-edge robotics more accessible for education and research. Key Responsibilities

Role Description: This is a full time, in office Mechanical/Robotics Engineer role based in Chennai.

CAD & Prototyping: Design complex mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks, handling everything from concept to physical build.

Structural FEA: Perform structural analysis (ANSYS Static Structural) and topology optimisation to minimise weight and maximise strength.

Digital Twins & ROS2:

Develop URDF models, set up digital twins, and interface physical hardware designs with ROS2 environments.

Control Systems: Apply core principles of linear/non-linear control algorithms to physical dynamics.

Qualifications & Skills Required

Solid proficiency in SolidWorks (Part Modelling, Assembly) and ANSYS (FEA, Topology Optimisation).

Working knowledge of ROS2, URDF creation, and digital twins.

Proven hands-on experience building physical systems (e.g., active roles in student robotics clubs like Robocon, Formula Student, or hands-on hardware R&D;).

What We Offer

Collaborative R&D; workplace inside the IITM Research Park.

Direct exposure to cutting-edge, real-world autonomous hardware and multi-DoF robotic manipulators.

Work on real autonomous systems, moving beyond simulation to physical hardware. Architects complete subsystems with the creative freedom to test and implement their ideas.
