Role Description The Staff Accountant is a full time, in office role based at MG Garments in Coimbatore. This role is responsible for handling day-to-day accounting activities, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank and vendor accounts.

The Staff

Accountant will prepare and review invoices, assist with payroll, support month-end and year-end closing, and help generate financial reports for management. The role also includes ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and taxation requirements, coordinating with internal departments and external auditors, and assisting with budgeting and cost tracking.

Accountant is expected to maintain accurate documentation, follow established processes, and support continuous improvements in the finance function.

Qualifications

Solid knowledge of basic accounting principles, general ledger management, and financial reporting.

Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel (formulas, spreadsheets, reconciliations).

Ability to manage accounts payable and receivable, billing, and bank reconciliations with strong attention to detail.

Understanding of taxation, statutory compliance, and audit support processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data.

Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with operations, HR, and external partners.

Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple deadlines in a manufacturing workplace.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA Inter) are an advantage.

Prior experience in accounting within manufacturing or garment/textile sectors is preferred but not mandatory.
