The Diagnostics Billing Executive is responsible for accurate billing of laboratory and radiology investigations, patient counseling regarding tests and charges, payment collection, and ensuring compliance with hospital billing policies. The role requires effective coordination with patients, consultants, and diagnostic departments to ensure smooth billing operations and high patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Receive and review investigation prescriptions, requisitions, and credit letters.
Verify patient details and ensure correct registration before billing.
Counsel patients regarding investigations, test charges, preparation requirements, and expected Turn Around Time (TAT).
Coordinate with PRE/Front Office for detailed preparation instructions for special investigations such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and other procedures.
Generate accurate bills for laboratory and radiology investigations.
Ensure correct tariff selection and application of discounts as per hospital policy.
Process payments through cash, card, UPI, and other approved payment modes.




Maintain complete knowledge of diagnostic billing policies, packages, outsourced investigations, and applicable TATs.
Verify corporate, insurance, ECHS, CGHS, and credit patient documents before billing.
Ensure outsourced investigations are billed appropriately as per approved guidelines.
Handle patient billing queries and provide transparent information regarding charges and services.
Perform cash handling, shift-wise cash reconciliation, and proper handover to the cashier/accounts department.
Maintain billing registers, records, and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with laboratory, radiology, consultants, front office, and accounts departments for smooth operations.
Prevent billing errors, duplicate billing, and revenue leakage through regular verification.
Assist during internal and external audits and ensure compliance with NABH/NABL standards.
Generate daily collection, billing, and pending reports as required by management.
