Role & responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
Teach reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and literature.
Develop students' critical thinking, communication, and creative writing skills.
Assess, monitor, and record student progress using a variety of assessment methods.
Provide constructive feedback to support academic growth and improve learning outcomes.
Create an inclusive, positive, and student-centred classroom workplace.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Integrate technology and creative teaching strategies into classroom instruction.
Prepare lesson plans, assignments, examinations, and learning resources.
Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and academic reports.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and behaviour.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development programmes, and school events.
Support extracurricular activities, literary clubs, debates, and school functions.
Ensure compliance with school policies, safeguarding requirements,



and Australian educational standards.

Preferred candidate profile
Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, English Literature, or a related field.
B.Ed. or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Minimum 25 years of teaching experience, preferably in an Australian Curriculum or international school.
Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and contemporary teaching methodologies.
Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Ability to develop engaging lesson plans and effective classroom management strategies.
Robust communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Proficient in using educational technology and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Passionate about student development and continuous qualified learning.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership.
Experience in preparing students for Australian assessment standards will be an added advantage.
Valid teaching licence/certification (where applicable) is preferred.
