Role & responsibilities

Conducting exploratory data analysis and data pre-processing to identify trends, patterns, and outliers in the data.
Developing and implementing predictive models using machine learning techniques to forecast crop yields, weather events, and other risk factors that impact our business.
Support other departments in developing and implementing machine learning models for their functions like claims processing, financial projections etc.
Supporting the development and maintenance of databases, data pipelines, and data visualization tools.
Automation of data flows, financial reporting and business processes.
Contributing to the development of best practices in data analysis, modelling, and visualization.
Creating reports and presentations to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Supporting the Appointed Actuary to conduct actuarial analyses,



pricing and reserve calculations.
Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and techniques in data science and related fields.

Requirements
Solid knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and machine learning techniques.
Proficient in programming languages such as SQL, Python or R.
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or ggplot.
Ability to work with large datasets.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Robust communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team workplace.
Knowledge of GIS tools or experience in analysing geospatial data.
Experience working in the insurance industry or with actuarial models will be preferred.
