Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job
The Logistics Procurement Analytics Intern will join Nouryon's global logistics procurement team on a 6-month assignment to lead a high-impact payload optimization initiative for the road transportation modality. This is a hands-on, project-ownership role designed for a high-potential student or early-career talent who is passionate about applying data analytics, optimization, and operations research techniques to solve real-world supply chain challenges.
The intern will be expected to dive deep into shipment and load data, identify optimization levers, apply predictive and prescriptive analytics techniques, and deliver a structured set of recommendations along with an implementation roadmap to unlock cost savings and improve transport efficiency.
The internship is centered around the following core pillars:
Data Analytics & Insight Generation – Perform deep-dive analysis on road shipment data to uncover patterns, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities.
Payload Optimization (Road Modality) – Own the end-to-end analysis and modeling of vehicle payload utilization, identifying levers to improve load efficiency and reduce shipment frequency.
Predictive & Prescriptive Modeling – Apply operations research, optimization, and advanced analytics techniques to design data-driven solutions.
Recommendation & Implementation Planning – Translate analytical findings into a transparent set of recommendations and an actionable implementation plan for the logistics procurement team.
Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborate with logistics procurement, operations, and business stakeholders to validate assumptions, refine scenarios, and align on outcomes.
