About the Role:
This isn’t a typical Staff Database Engineer role.
You will operate at the core of a high-scale crypto exchange, owning the
architecture and reliability of the data layer that powers real-time trading,
wallets, and market infrastructure. You’ll design and scale resilient,
low-latency database systems capable of handling extreme volatility and
transaction throughput.
By bridging infrastructure and application layers, you
will drive performance, data integrity, and system stability at “crypto-speed.”
This role demands deep technical ownership, where your decisions directly
impact uptime, risk, and user trust at scale.
What You’ll Do:
Architectural Leadership: Lead the evolution of our global database
architecture using Aurora Global Databases to ensure low-latency access and
regional failover capabilities.
Performance Engineering: Deep-dive into SQL performance tuning, query
execution plans, and indexing strategies. Solve complex concurrency and locking
issues inherent in high-throughput financial systems.
Scaling & Capacity Planning: Manage database scaling strategies (Read
Replicas, Aurora Serverless v2, and Multi-AZ deployments) to handle massive
spikes in traffic during market volatility.
Database Reliability (DBRE): Implement "Infrastructure as Code"
(Terraform/CDK) for database provisioning.
