ITI Electrician
Executing plans of electrical wiring for well functioning lighting, intercom and other electrical systems.
Installing electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems. Installing safety and distribution components.
An Electrician, or a Wireman, installs and repairs electrical power systems in businesses, homes, factories and public spaces.
Their main duties include planning the layout of electrical wiring, diagnosing electrical problems and conducting general electrical maintenance.
An ITI electrician's job description may include:
Identifying hazards and defects
Maintaining records and files
Preparing reports
Ordering supplies and equipment
Repairing or replacing wiring,
equipment, and fixtures
Ensuring that work is in accordance with relevant codes
Electricians may work in residential homes, commercial, industrial, and public buildings, including schools and hospitals.
Some other responsibilities of an electrician may include:
Interpreting blueprints and schematics
Performing preventive and predictive maintenance
Installing safety and distribution components
Performing quality testing and inspections
Specialized electrical tasks
Testing conductivity
Ensuring the secure operation of a building's systems
Working with utility companies to maintain power lines
