Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Execution:
Execute daily/weekly assembly plans as per production schedule.
Coordinate with planning, fabrication, and stores departments to ensure
availability of components.
Monitor manpower deployment and productivity.
Assembly Operations:
Supervise the mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical assembly of cranes.
Ensure adherence to work instructions, process parameters, and SOPs.
Troubleshoot technical issues during assembly and coordinate with
design/QC teams.
Quality & Inspection Support:
Coordinate with the Quality team for stage-wise and final inspection.
Ensure rectification of defects and NCRs raised during assembly or
inspection.
Maintain first-time-right quality in all assemblies.
Resource Management:
Manage tools, tackles, cranes, and other lifting equipment used in assembly.
Ensure proper upkeep and calibration of assembly fixtures and tools.
Lean Manufacturing & 5S:
Implement lean practices, 5S,
and Kaizen in the assembly area.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce assembly time and
rework.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all safety protocols are followed during assembly work.
Conduct toolbox talks and participate in EHS audits.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain daily production reports (DPR), assembly checklists, and traceability
records.
Report delays, material shortages, and process deviations to the concerned
authority.
Skills & Competencies Required:
Knowledge of crane components and assembly sequences (girders, hoists,
end carriages, panels, etc.)
Familiarity with mechanical drawings and BOMs
Basic knowledge of hydraulics and electrical control systems
Leadership, team handling, and coordination skills
Solid focus on quality, safety, and productivity
Working knowledge of ERP/SAP systems preferred
