Job Description:

Data Discovery Analyst (potential to develop into Data Modeller)

Responsibilities:
Supporting Business Process Owners (BPO) and the Group Data Utility (GDU) to implement data governance procedures and monitor compliance
Understand the ESG process landscape within HSBC and the sequencing of business processes and interdependencies between them
Liaising with BPOs and Pod Leads to understand data consumed and produced by processes
Documenting business terms on behalf of BPOs in Data Discovery Templates
Documenting the underlying system (physical & logical) metadata associated with business terms in Data Discovery Templates
Overseeing data governance demands through JIRA to ensure timely and satisfactory delivery of GDU services





Experience & Skills:
Experience of data governance and other data management activities.
Valuable knowledge of industry standards and regulations on data management (i.e., DCAM, BCBS 239, etc.)
Experience in managing data governance demands and delivery of data governance services
Problem solver with ability to find practical solutions and prevent delays
Influencing skills, able to gain support and buy in from stakeholders
Solid communicator with excellent oral and written skills
Solid Microsoft Excel skills
Proficiency with JIRA
