Job Description:

A wireman is a skilled technician who installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, conduits, and equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. They read blueprints, interpret technical schematics, use testing devices for troubleshooting, and ensure all work complies with electrical codes and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Installation: Installing electrical components, wiring systems, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and transformers in recent or remodeled buildings.
Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshooting electrical malfunctions using tools like ohmmeters and voltmeters, replacing faulty wiring, and performing routine inspections.
Technical Drawing Interpretation:
Reading blueprints and schematics to plan layout and installation.
Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all work adheres to local,



state, and national electrical codes.
System Assembly: Assembling and installing electrical control panels, raceway systems, and motors.

Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent, often with ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification or equivalent trade school training.
Licensure: Valid wireman license or electrician certification (e.g., PWD license).
Experience: Proven experience as a Wireman, Electrical Technician, or similar role.
Skills: Solid understanding of electrical systems, proficiency with hand/power tools, and excellent troubleshooting abilities.
