Job Description We're Hiring: Textile Designer | House of Stori
n House of Stori is a trade-based apparel company from India, respected within the industry as an innovator in textile and design — offering globally relevant designs and superior quality at affordable prices. While not a widely known consumer name, we've built a strong reputation among our business partners for pushing design forward.
n We're now looking for a Textile Designer to join our team.
n About the Role
n We're looking for a designer with a global, updated sense of taste and the ability to research, execute, and develop textiles creatively from concept to production. You'll play a key role in shaping fabric direction for our menswear range — balancing international design sensibility with the practical execution our brand is known for.
n What You'll Do
n n Research global textile trends, fabric innovations, and menswear design movements to inform seasonal direction
n Develop original surface and textile designs, including yarn-dyed fabrics (checks, stripes, dobbies, jacquards, and other woven structures)
n Translate references, moodboards, and research into technically accurate, production-ready fabric specifications
n Take designs from concept through to execution — working with mills and vendors to bring ideas to life while maintaining quality and cost efficiency
n Build strong, cohesive fabric stories each season that balance global relevance with commercial viability at scale
n Keep a global outlook — tracking international menswear, textile fairs, and design references to keep the brand's offering current
n n What We're Looking For
n n Robust experience in textile/surface design, ideally within menswear
n A well-developed, globally-informed design sensibility — someone with genuinely good, current taste
n Robust research instincts, with the ability to independently source inspiration and translate it into design
n Hands-on ability to execute — from concept sketches to loom-ready specs
n Understanding of yarn-dyed textiles, weave structures, and fabric construction
n Ability to design for scale — balancing creative ambition with quality and cost discipline
n Proficiency in design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, or textile CAD software)
n Robust collaboration skills to work with mills, vendors, and internal teams
