As a Fiber Field Engineer, your main responsibility will be to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic communication systems. This may include the following tasks:
Conducting site surveys and gathering data to design and plan fiber optic network layouts.
Developing and implementing installation plans for fiber optic cables, including placement and splicing.
Testing and troubleshooting fiber optic systems to ensure optimal performance.
Performing routine maintenance on fiber optic systems, including cleaning, inspection, and replacement of damaged components.
Responding to service calls and repairing fiber optic cables in a timely manner.
Collaborating with other engineering teams and contractors to ensure project deadlines are met.
Documenting all work performed and providing reports on project progress and completion.
Maintaining a secure working setting and adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
