A service engineer for the elevator industry is responsible for the technical maintenance and support of elevators, escalators, and other vertical transport systems. Their duties include:
Maintenance: Performing routine and planned maintenance, repairs, and adjustments to elevator equipment
Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and fixing elevator malfunctions
Inspections: Performing technical inspections to ensure elevators meet required standards
Safety: Ensuring safety at all times and compliance with safety regulations
Customer service: Providing technical support and guidance to customers, and working with them to understand their needs
Reporting: Preparing reports on equipment issues and replacement parts
Training: Training other technicians and developing instructional programs
Installation: Planning and laying out the installation of elevator systems and equipment
Modernization: Performing modernization and retrofits
