Job Objective:
The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for designing and managing database schemas and objects (tables, views, procedures, functions) for IT projects, ensuring high data availability, security, and performance. The DBA evaluates database technologies, supports system and application databases, and continuously upgrades technical artifacts to maintain a secure and productive data setting.
Core Responsibilities& Requirements:
Administer MySQL 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8, 8.4, and MariaDB instances.
Configure and manage Replication (Master-Slave, Group Replication).
Optimize performance via InnoDB tuning and slow query analysis.
Manage cloud databases (AWS RDS, Aurora, or GCP Cloud SQL).
Automate backups using PerconaXtraBackup or MySQL Shell.
Implement high availability using InnoDB Cluster or ProxySQL.
Monitor performance using Prometheus/Grafana or Percona Monitoring.
Perform schema design reviews and migration support.
Manage database security, users, and network-level access.
Perform large-scale data imports/exports and migrations.
Troubleshoot locking issues and storage engine bottlenecks.
Implement database sharding or scaling strategies.
Conduct regular disaster recovery testing.
Manage NoSQL features within MySQL (JSON documents).
Write Bash/Python scripts for database automation.
Candidate Profile Details
Essential Criteria
Education:
BE / B.Tech (in any stream)
OR
PG Degree IT/CS or equivalent
Experience:
Overall experience of 8 years out of which minimum 5 years shall be of DBA profile.
Work experience must span over 4 turn-key projects as a DBA.
DBA Certificate.
Desirable Skills & Experience
High availability and DR solutions
Cloud-based database platforms
Scripting and automation
Hands-on expertise in backup/recovery, replication, and database tuning.
Experience in performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
