Position Summary
The IT Infrastructure L2 Engineer is responsible for providing advanced support, administration, and maintenance of the organizations IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, routers, switches, firewalls, and system administration components. This role involves troubleshooting escalated technical issues, implementing infrastructure changes, ensuring system reliability, and supporting the organizations operational needs. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across server administration, networking, and security, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in complex technical environments.

Key Responsibilities
Server Administration

- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and domain services.
- Perform patch management and server updates.
- Monitor server performance, storage, and resource utilization.
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).

Network Administration

- Configure and manage routers, switches, access points, and VLANs.
- Perform network troubleshooting for LAN/WAN issues.
- Monitor network performance, bandwidth, and connectivity.
- Support VPN setup, site-to-site tunnels, and remote access technologies.

Firewall / Security Administration

- Configure and manage firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, SonicWall, or similar).
- Monitor logs and alerts for potential security threats.
- Apply security policies, IPS/IDS, content filtering, and access rules.




- Assist with security audits, compliance requirements, and best practices.

System Administration

- Provide L2 support for desktops, laptops, and end-user systems.
- Manage system imaging, OS deployments, and updates.
- Administer Office 365, email systems, endpoint tools, and backup systems.
- Resolve application, hardware, and software issues escalated from L1.

Operational & Support Responsibilities

- Respond to and resolve L2 tickets within SLA timelines.
- Document procedures, solutions, and change requests.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers.
- Support IT infrastructure projects, upgrades, and implementations.
- Participate in on-call rotations as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
- 37 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server administration.
- Proficiency in network routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, and network protocols.
- Experience managing routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization environments (VMware / Hyper-V).
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data protection.
- Experience with backup tools and disaster recovery concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle complex technical tasks.

Preferred Certifications (not mandatory)

- CCNA
- Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or AWS Solution Architect Associate
- CompTIA Network+ / Security+
- VMware VCP
- Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCCET/PCNSA, or equivalent
