Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate Sanskrit Teacher for Classes VI to X. The ideal candidate should possess strong proficiency in Sanskrit language and literature, a deep appreciation of India's linguistic and cultural heritage, and the ability to make Sanskrit learning engaging and relevant for students. The teacher will be responsible for developing students' language skills, grammatical understanding, literary appreciation, and cultural awareness while ensuring alignment with CBSE curriculum standards.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Responsibilities
- Teach Sanskrit Language and Literature to students of Classes VI to X in accordance with CBSE curriculum guidelines.
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that simplify Sanskrit grammar, vocabulary, and literary concepts.
- Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, pronunciation, translation, and comprehension skills in Sanskrit.
- Prepare lesson plans, assignments, worksheets, projects, and enrichment activities aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Foster appreciation for Sanskrit literature, ancient texts, Indian knowledge systems, and cultural heritage.
- Encourage students to understand the relevance and contribution of Sanskrit to modern Indian languages and culture.
- Conduct remedial and enrichment sessions to support varied learning abilities.
- Ensure timely completion of syllabus and curriculum requirements.
Language Development & Cultural Enrichment
- Promote Sanskrit language learning through storytelling, recitation, shloka chanting, dramatization, and interactive activities.
- Guide students in creative language exercises, translation work, grammar practice, and literary appreciation.
- Organize and support Sanskrit-related competitions, quizzes, cultural events, and language festivals.
- Encourage participation in Sanskrit Day celebrations, literary activities, and cultural programs.
- Develop students' confidence in reading, understanding, and communicating basic Sanskrit.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments, assignments, projects, and examinations.
- Prepare competency-based and skill-oriented assessments aligned with CBSE guidelines.
- Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate academic records.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth and language development.
- Analyze assessment outcomes and implement strategies for academic improvement.
- Participate in academic review meetings and result analysis discussions.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Encourage active participation, collaborative learning, and respectful communication.
- Foster curiosity and appreciation for classical languages and Indian heritage.
- Maintain discipline and classroom decorum in accordance with school policies.
Technology Integration
- Utilize Smart Boards, multimedia resources, digital content, language-learning applications, and educational technology platforms to enhance learning.
- Integrate audio-visual tools for pronunciation practice, storytelling, and cultural understanding.
- Support blended learning and digital classroom initiatives.
- Use digital platforms to monitor student progress and communicate academic updates.
Student Development
- Mentor students in developing communication skills, confidence, and appreciation for language learning.
- Guide students in Sanskrit recitation, elocution, quizzes, competitions, and cultural activities.
- Encourage participation in co-curricular activities that promote language, values, and cultural understanding.
- Conduct doubt-clearing sessions and provide individualized academic support.
- Inspire students to explore India's literary, philosophical, and cultural traditions.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and language development.
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs), counseling sessions, and academic discussions.
- Provide recommendations and strategies to support language learning at home.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain attendance records, assessment reports, and academic documentation.
- Participate in curriculum planning, faculty meetings, workshops, and professional development programs.
- Support school events, examinations, cultural celebrations, and institutional initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of study materials, question banks, language resources, and academic content.
Required Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Sanskrit, Sanskrit Literature, Education, or a related discipline.
- B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) is preferred.
- Master's Degree in Sanskrit or Sanskrit Literature will be preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 25 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school.
- Experience teaching Sanskrit to Classes VI–X.
- Experience in organizing cultural, literary, and language enrichment activities will be an added advantage.
