Senior Manager / Manager Employee Relations

Location: Gurugram

Reporting to: Director Employee Relations

Employment Type: Full time

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to manage complex, sensitive, and high-risk employee relations matters across the organization. In this role, you will work closely with legal, compliance, and business leaders to investigate workplace issues, resolve disputes, and ensure that employee conduct and people practices are fair, consistent, and compliant with labour laws.

Key Responsibilities

1. Workplace Investigations & Case Management

- Independently manage end-to-end investigations into employee complaints, including:

- POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) cases
- Whistleblower complaints and ethics concerns
- Misconduct, fraud, and code-of-conduct violations
- Discrimination, harassment, bullying, and retaliation
- Performance-related disputes and grievance redressal

- Conduct thorough, impartial, and legally defensible investigations including interviewing complainants, respondents, and witnesses; gathering and reviewing evidence; and preparing detailed investigation reports with findings and recommended actions.
- Ensure timely closure of all cases, maintaining accurate and confidential documentation.

2. Compliance & Legal Governance





- Provide expert advice on the interpretation and application of labour laws, including:

- Factories Act, CLRA, Shops & Establishments Act
- Payment of Wages, Bonus, Gratuity, and Maternity Benefit Act
- POSH Act, 2013
- Industrial Disputes Act

- Partner with the Legal and Compliance teams to manage:

- Regulatory inspections and labour department notices
- Litigation strategy and legal proceedings related to employee matters
- Severance, termination, and separation governance

- Maintain audit-ready ER documentation and ensure 100% statutory compliance.

3. ER Policy & Governance

- Review, revise, and implement employee relations policies, codes of conduct, and disciplinary frameworks.
- Develop and maintain ER playbooks, SOPs, and communication templates to ensure consistency and transparency.
- Identify systemic ER risks and recommend proactive interventions.

4. Stakeholder Advisory & Manager Enablement

- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, HRBPs, and legal teams on sensitive ER matters.
- Coach and train managers on:

- Managing disciplinary actions and difficult conversations
- Performance improvement plans (PIPs)
- POSH awareness and prevention
- Handling grievances and workplace conflicts

5. ER Analytics & Reporting

- Track, analyze, and report on ER case trends, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly ER dashboards for leadership, highlighting key risks, case status, and intervention outcomes.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Experience & Qualification

- 12+ years of progressive HR experience,



with at least 57 years dedicated to Employee Relations (ER) as a specialist role.
- Proven experience in conducting complex workplace investigations, including POSH, whistleblower, and misconduct cases.
- Strong working knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Experience in a large, matrixed organization (preferably multinational or professional services).

Education

- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent.
- LLB or formal legal qualification is strongly preferred.

- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to collaborate across HR, Legal, Compliance, and business teams.
- Resilience: Comfortable managing high-pressure, crisis-oriented situations.
