The Role:

You are the senior technical lead on a two-person founding tech team you and a full-time junior developer who will handle app UI and dashboard screens under your guidance. You own architecture, the parts of the system where real money moves, and the technical judgment the founder relies on when making product decisions.

What You'll Own:

- Full system architecture: mobile app (React Native), backend (Node.js), database design (PostgreSQL) for tenders, bids, escrow states, and users.
- The escrow and payment integration, end to end: fund-on-order-confirmation, hold logic, release-on-deliveryconfirmation, and dispute-hold handling this stays under your direct ownership regardless of team size.
- The KYC/verification integration: document upload third-party API verification result routed cleanly into the admin panel.
- Code review and technical mentorship for the junior developer not formal management, but real day-to-day guidance on how they build.
- Infrastructure: cloud setup, CI/CD, monitoring, backups sized for a lean, rapid-moving two-person team.
- Final technical sign-off on anything touching payments, KYC data, or PII before it ships.

A Day in This Role

Mornings start with a short async check-in with the founder and a quick sync with the junior developer what shipped yesterday, what's blocked, what's next for each of you. Most of your day is split between deep architecture/integration work (today: the escrow release trigger and its failure-path handling; tomorrow: reviewing the junior dev's tender-list screen and catching an edge case in how it handles an expired tender) and periodic pairing sessions where you walk the junior developer through a decision rather than just handing them a ticket.

Who You Are:

- 6-10 years of full-stack experience, with real production work in React Native (or strong React/web experience with a fast ramp-up into mobile).
- You've shipped and maintained at least one system that handled real payments, KYC/verification, or transactional/marketplace logic not just CRUD apps.
- You're comfortable owning architecture solo in an early, still-forming environment, and equally comfortable mentoring someone earlier in their career this role is both builder and quiet technical lead.
- You already use AI coding tools as part of your normal workflow, and see them as a way to build faster and better.
- You want ground-floor ownership of something real, with the added satisfaction of shaping how a junior developer learns to build production software.
