Position Summary

Moolchand Hospital is seeking a skilled and proactive Biomedical Engineer to manage the installation, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of medical equipment across the hospital. The role is responsible for ensuring that biomedical devices remain safe, reliable, compliant with applicable standards, and available to support high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and corrective maintenance of biomedical equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and hospital schedules.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with clinical departments to ensure the optimal performance and availability of medical devices.
- Supervise the installation, commissioning, testing, and acceptance of new medical equipment.
- Maintain comprehensive equipment records, including preventive maintenance schedules, service reports, calibration certificates, breakdown history, and asset inventory.
- Coordinate with OEMs and authorized service providers for annual maintenance contracts (AMC), comprehensive maintenance contracts (CMC), warranty support, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, accreditation requirements, and applicable biomedical engineering standards.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and performance verification of medical equipment.
- Provide user training and technical guidance to clinicians and hospital staff on the safe and effective operation of medical devices.
- Support equipment evaluation, procurement, technical specifications,



vendor assessments, and technology upgrades.
- Participate in equipment audits, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation activities.
- Monitor spare parts inventory and recommend replacement or procurement of equipment when required.
- Respond promptly to emergency equipment breakdowns and provide technical support during critical situations.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent discipline from a recognized institution.
- Diploma holders with relevant hospital biomedical engineering experience may also be considered, depending on organizational requirements.

Required Technical Skills

- Knowledge of biomedical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with ICU, OT, Cath Lab, Radiology, Dialysis, Laboratory, and Patient Monitoring equipment.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance programs, calibration practices, and equipment lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of medical equipment safety standards and quality systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
