Role & responsibilities

- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
- Monitor database health, performance, and availability.
- Perform database backup, recovery, and restoration activities.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution.
- Monitor replication and ensure high availability of databases.
- Execute routine maintenance activities such as vacuuming, reindexing, and patching.
- Analyze slow queries and perform SQL performance tuning.
- Support application deployment and database changes.
- Implement database security and user access management.
- Maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and support teams during incidents and deployments.




- Participate in on-call support activities when required.

Required Skills

- Robust knowledge of PostgreSQL database administration.
- Experience in backup and recovery strategies.
- Good understanding of PostgreSQL replication and HA concepts.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Familiarity with SQL query optimization and performance tuning.
- Experience with monitoring tools and database health checks.
- Basic shell scripting knowledge is preferred.
- Understanding of database security best practices.
