Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Medical Coders with strong knowledge of Emergency Department (ED) Facility Coding, Evaluation & Management (E&M;) Coding, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR).
In addition to coding responsibilities, selected candidates will support medical records review, documentation management, and healthcare administrative workflows using eClinicalWorks (eCW) and other Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Since our leadership team and clients are based in the United States, excellent spoken and written English communication skills are mandatory. Candidates should be comfortable participating in meetings, understanding instructions from U.S. managers, and communicating professionally with physicians, clinics, and healthcare staff.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Coding
- Review Emergency Department physician documentation and patient charts.
- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes.
- Assign CPT and HCPCS procedure codes where applicable.
- Perform Evaluation & Management (E&M;) coding according to AMA and CMS guidelines.
- Validate medical necessity and coding compliance.
- Ensure coding quality, accuracy, and productivity standards are consistently achieved.
- Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay updated with annual coding guideline revisions.
Medical Records Review
- Review patient charts for completeness and documentation accuracy.
- Cancel expired physician orders while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Receive and process referrals, laboratory reports, pathology reports, imaging results, consultation notes,
and specialist documentation.
- Upload, organize, and maintain patient records within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Draft professional correspondence and fax letters to referring physicians, specialists, hospitals, and healthcare facilities.
- Review documentation for missing information and escalate discrepancies appropriately.
- Maintain accurate patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
eClinicalWorks Responsibilities
- Navigate and manage patient records using eClinicalWorks (eCW).
- Update patient demographics and clinical documentation.
- Process incoming electronic documents efficiently.
- Maintain organized digital medical records.
- Support providers by ensuring documentation is complete and accessible.
Communication & Collaboration
- Attend meetings with U.S.-based Team Leaders and Managers.
- Communicate professionally with American healthcare staff.
- Understand and execute client instructions accurately.
- Prepare skilled emails and documentation in English.
- Collaborate with Quality Analysts, Coding Auditors, and Operations teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Optometry, Allied Health Sciences, or a related healthcare discipline.
- Medical Coding Certification (CPC, CCS, COC, CIC, or equivalent) preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in U.S. Healthcare Medical Coding or Medical Records Review.
- Experience in Emergency Department (ED) Facility Coding or E&M; Coding preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems.
- Experience using eClinicalWorks (preferred but not mandatory).
Mandatory Skills

- Ability to communicate confidently with U.S.-based Team Leaders and healthcare professionals.
- Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Good understanding of Anatomy & Physiology.
- Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and E&M; coding guidelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- High typing accuracy and computer proficiency.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with eClinicalWorks (eCW).
- Knowledge of CMS guidelines.
- Experience in Medical Records Review.
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance.
- Experience handling referrals, laboratory reports, imaging documentation, and physician correspondence.
- Exposure to quality audits and denial prevention.
