Job Summary

The PPC Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, monitoring, and controlling manufacturing activities in the PEB division to ensure timely delivery of structural steel components, secondary members, sheeting, and accessories. The role involves coordinating with Design, Procurement, Production, Quality, Logistics, and Project teams to optimize resource utilization, monitor production progress, and achieve project deadlines while maintaining quality and cost targets.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning

- Prepare detailed production plans based on project requirements, delivery schedules, and production capacities.
- Develop weekly and monthly manufacturing schedules for PEB components.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Detailing, and Sales teams to understand project priorities and delivery commitments.
- Monitor production loading and optimize machine and manpower utilization.

Production Control & Monitoring

- Track day-to-day production activities and ensure adherence to planned schedules.
- Monitor fabrication, welding, shot blasting, painting, sheeting, and dispatch activities.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare production progress reports and update management regularly.

Material Planning & Coordination

- Coordinate with Procurement and Stores for timely availability of raw materials and consumables.
- Monitor inventory levels of steel plates, coils, sections, fasteners, and accessories.




- Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules.
- Minimize material shortages and excess inventory.

Interdepartmental Coordination

- Liaise with Design and Detailing teams regarding drawing releases and revisions.
- Coordinate with QA/QC to ensure quality compliance.
- Work with Logistics and Dispatch teams for shipment planning and project-wise material dispatch.

MIS & Reporting

- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly PPC reports.
- Maintain project-wise production and dispatch tracking records.
- Analyze production efficiency, machine utilization, and productivity metrics.
- Update ERP/MRP systems with production data and schedules.

Continuous Improvement

- Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Reduce production cycle time and improve delivery performance.
- Participate in process improvement and cost reduction projects.

Required Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering,



Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Experience

- 3-8 years of experience in PPC, Manufacturing Planning, or Production Control.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in the Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), Structural Steel, Steel Fabrication, or Heavy Engineering industry preferred.

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of PEB manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and shop drawings.
- Knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly operations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Knowledge of production scheduling and capacity planning techniques.
- Familiarity with inventory management and MRP concepts.

- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
