Job Overview:

The Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the upkeep, troubleshooting, and preventive/breakdown maintenance of CNC machines, electrical systems, and mechanical utilities across the shop floor. The role requires hands-on expertise in diagnosing and resolving electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults on CNC machining centers, VMCs, lathes, and associated plant utilities, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent machine availability in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on CNC machines (VMC/HMC/Lathes), PLCs, servo drives, spindles, and machine control panels.
- Diagnose and rectify electrical faults including wiring, control panels, motors, sensors, drives, and CNC control systems (Fanuc/Siemens/Mitsubishi or equivalent).
- Carry out mechanical maintenance of machine tools ball screws, linear guideways, spindle units, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, coolant and lubrication systems.
- Minimize machine downtime by ensuring quick fault identification, root cause analysis, and permanent corrective actions.




- Maintain and update preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, checklists, and machine history/log records.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to prioritize maintenance activities without disrupting production schedules.
- Support installation, commissioning, and alignment of new machines and equipment.
- Maintain electrical distribution systems, panels, compressors, DG sets, and utility equipment across the plant.
- Ensure spare parts inventory for critical machine components is maintained and coordinate procurement with stores/purchase.
- Adhere to safety protocols during all maintenance activities and maintain compliance with QMS standards.
- Prepare maintenance reports, downtime analysis, and MTTR/MTBF data for management review.
- Train and guide junior technicians/operators on basic machine care and troubleshooting.

Key Requirements:

- Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience: 23 years of hands-on maintenance experience with CNC machines in a precision manufacturing, machining, or sheet metal workplace.
- Working knowledge of CNC controllers (Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi).
- Practical exposure to electrical troubleshooting and understanding of mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and computerized maintenance management is an added advantage.
