Working Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM

Job Purpose
The Optometrist will be responsible for conducting eye examinations, assisting ophthalmologists in diagnosis and treatment, and ensuring high standards of patient care in alignment with the hospitals mission.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations including visual acuity testing, refraction, slit-lamp examination, and fundus evaluation
- Perform diagnostic tests such as keratometry, tonometry, OCT, perimetry, and retinoscopy
- Assist ophthalmologists in OPD, pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
- Prescribe and dispense spectacles, contact lenses, and low-vision aids




- Screen patients for refractive errors, glaucoma, cataract, diabetic retinopathy, and other ocular conditions
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation
- Educate patients on eye health, contact lens care, and post-treatment instructions
- Participate in outreach programs, eye camps, and community screening initiatives conducted by Purvanchal Netralaya
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of ophthalmic equipment
- Follow hospital protocols, ethical practices, and infection control standards

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Bachelors Degree in Optometry (B.Optom) / Diploma in Optometry (D.Optom) from a recognized institution
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in hospital or eye care center preferred.
- Skills:

- Solid clinical and diagnostic skills
- Good communication and patient counseling abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care
