- Sample, test and approve/reject incoming raw materials and finished products against defined specifications.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring correct calibration and reliable results.
- Monitor quality at key production stages and support batch approval and release.
Coordination & Problem-Solving
- Work closely with Production, Stores and Purchase to resolve quality issues, address non-conforming materials and support smooth, uninterrupted operations.
- Investigate deviations and batch failures, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Documentation & Standards
- Maintain QC records, test reports, batch registers and material storage documentation accurately and up to date.
- Support quality systems and audit readiness, ensuring compliance with internal standards and applicable norms (e.g. ISO / BIS where relevant).
Lab Supervision & Team Handling
- Ensure lab safety, housekeeping,
proper handling of chemicals .
Desired Candidate Profile
- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry
- 2 - 5 years of QC / laboratory experience in the paint, coatings or chemical industry.
- Sound knowledge of chemical analysis and instrumental testing methods.
- Familiarity with dry-mix/construction chemical specifications, raw materials and quality standards.
- Good documentation, record-keeping and reporting skills.
- Ability to coordinate across departments and supervise a small lab team.
- Working knowledge of MS Office; exposure to ERP / quality software is an advantage.
