Fortis Chemical is engaged in the manufacturing, blending, processing, storage, and marketing of specialty industrial chemicals and petroleum products catering to industries such as steel, refractories, foundries, cement, engineering, and manufacturing.
Position Summary
The Plant Head will provide strategic, operational, commercial, and financial leadership for Fortis Chemical and will be responsible for the overall performance of the business. The role encompasses end-to-end management of manufacturing, supply chain, quality, maintenance, safety, commercial coordination, statutory compliance, customer support, and business growth while ensuring profitability, operational excellence, and sustainable expansion.

Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership
Lead the overall business operations of the plant as an independent profit center by driving growth, profitability, business planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives while ensuring achievement of organizational objectives.
Plant Operations
Manage the complete manufacturing operations for Industrial Fuels, Industrial Lubricants, Refractory Resins, RRBO, and BTX handling to ensure safe, productive, and uninterrupted production with optimum capacity utilization.
Production & Process Excellence
Plan and monitor production activities, improve manufacturing efficiency, optimize processes, reduce costs, improve yields, and implement continuous improvement initiatives for operational excellence.
Quality Assurance
Ensure consistent product quality by maintaining robust quality systems, laboratory controls, customer-focused quality standards, and timely resolution of customer complaints.
Maintenance & Reliability
Lead preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all plant equipment, utilities, storage facilities,



and process systems to maximize equipment reliability and plant availability.
Safety, Health & Environment
Establish a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations related to hazardous chemicals, petroleum products, environmental protection, fire safety, and occupational health while promoting zero-incident operations.
Supply Chain & Commercial Coordination
Coordinate procurement, inventory management, logistics, dispatch, and customer deliveries to ensure uninterrupted operations, optimized inventory levels, and efficient supply chain performance.
Projects & Business Expansion
Lead capacity expansion, technology upgradation, debottlenecking, new product development, and capital projects from planning through commissioning to support long-term business growth.
Financial Management
Manage plant budgets, manufacturing costs, working capital, productivity improvements, and profitability through effective financial planning and performance monitoring.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure full compliance with all statutory, environmental, safety, labor, and petroleum regulations while maintaining all required licenses, approvals, audits, and legal documentation.
People Leadership
Lead and develop cross-functional teams by fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, employee engagement, talent development, and harmonious industrial relations.

Educational Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering (Preferred)
- M.Tech or MBA (Operations/Marketing) will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 15 - 20 years of experience in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, lubricant, specialty chemical, fuel blending, hydrocarbon processing, or allied process industries.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role as Plant Head, Unit Head, Operations Head, or Manufacturing Head.
- Experience in handling hazardous chemicals, petroleum products, solvent storage, and process industries is essential.
