Role Overview
The Resident Engineer will also function as the Bridge Engineer and will be responsible for design review and construction supervision of major bridge projects and associated approach roads in Tanzania.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
- Postgraduate degree in Structural / Bridge Engineering (Mandatory)
- Must be a Registered Professional Engineer, i.e.:
- Chartered Engineer – Institution of Engineers (India), or
- Registered with any recognized foreign engineering board
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of cumulative professional experience
- At least 5 years of experience specifically in bridge construction
- Must have served as Bridge Engineer for at least two similar bridge projects (in terms of size and complexity) within the last 5 years
Key Responsibilities
- Design review of bridge structures
- Construction supervision of bridges, culverts, and approach roads
- Acting as full time Resident Engineer cum Bridge Engineer on site
- Coordination with client, contractors, and consultants
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards, and timelines
