Position: Materials Science PhD Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: Up to $20/hour

Role Responsibilities

- Apply advanced materials science expertise to support AI evaluation and scientific reasoning projects.
- Review and evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, scientific correctness, and logical consistency.
- Solve complex undergraduate, graduate, and research-level materials science problems across relevant domains.
- Analyze fundamental and applied materials science concepts to provide structured, evidence-based evaluations.
- Deliver detailed feedback to improve AI performance on scientific reasoning and technical problem-solving tasks.
- Complete high-quality evaluation assignments while maintaining strict quality standards and attention to detail.
- Collaborate effectively in a distributed, remote workplace while consistently delivering accurate work.

Requirements

- PhD in Materials Science, Materials Science & Engineering, Materials Chemistry, Materials Physics, Metallurgical Engineering, Nanotechnology,



or a closely related field.
- Strong academic, research, or subject matter expertise in materials science.
- Excellent analytical thinking and scientific problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to evaluate complex materials science concepts with high accuracy and technical precision.
- Strong written communication skills for documenting technical evaluations.
- Familiarity with AI/LLMs, AI model evaluation, AI training, or reasoning assessment projects is preferred.
- Experience solving graduate-level or research-level materials science problems is highly desirable.

Nice to Have

- Published research papers or demonstrated research experience in materials science.
- Previous experience with AI model evaluation, LLM benchmarking, or AI training projects.
- Experience creating technical assessments, evaluation datasets, or scientific benchmarks.
- Familiarity with materials characterization techniques, computational materials science, materials simulation tools, scientific computing, or programming.
- Prior experience contributing to research-driven scientific evaluation or advanced reasoning projects.
