Role & responsibilities

Objectives of the Role

Ensures Fosroc HSE standards, processes and procedures are fully implemented. Ensures local legislative requirements are maintained; increases HSE awareness, develops a positive HSE culture and establishes a safe working workplace across all operational and non-operational areas. Trains and implements all applicable HSE processes and systems.

Key Areas of Responsibility

ESSENTIAL

Coaches and influences OPCO:

- leadership decisions as they affect the HSE culture;
- workforce performance as it affects HSE issues and drives improvements in line with Group and Region KPIs;

1. Ensures health, safety and environmental systems, policies, procedures and programs are utilised and understood by employees / contract personnel;
2. Collates and presents accurate HSE statistical information identifies hazards and provides practical advice and best practice options on mitigating potential risks;
3. Provides HSE training and is experienced in supporting the delivery of contemporary behavioural based safety programs;
4. Conducts incident investigations, identifies immediate / underlying / root causes,



prepares associated reports and action plans to eliminate and prevent recurrence;
5. Ensures formal / informal risk assessments are conducted for all hazardous tasks;
6. As determined by Operations / Group guidelines, conducts internal HSE audits to ensure the robustness of Fosroc policies and procedures;
7. Acts as local HSE advisor in emergency situations;
8. Performs any other HSE duties as directed by the business;

Preferred candidate profile

- Comprehensive understanding of applicable local, international and OSHA regulations. Competent to provide technical HSE advice on current / future legislative requirements such that compliance is maintained at OPCO level;
- - Internationally recognised level 3 qualification in OSH (i.e. NEBOSH IGC / Diploma in Industrial Safety) with 5 years full time experience at controlling, eliminating and preventing disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents and ergonomic factors;
