Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer to lead engineering projects involving Chain Drive Timing Systems, Variable Cam Timing (VCT) Systems, and Solenoid product development. The role requires close collaboration with customers, cross-functional engineering teams, and manufacturing to develop and deliver innovative automotive powertrain solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Understand gasoline and diesel engine systems, including valve timing strategies and engine performance.
- Collaborate with customers to understand application requirements and recommend suitable timing system solutions.
- Create and review product performance specifications and technical targets.
- Design products to meet customer specifications while considering packaging constraints.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and technical feasibility assessments.
- Recommend application-specific design improvements to meet customer requirements.
- Lead or support DFMEA and DVP&R; reviews with customers.
- Evaluate prototype parts for functional performance and conduct failure analysis when required.
- Support product diagnostics and root cause analysis on customer vehicles and engines.
- Lead technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, FTA, Six Sigma,



and Root Cause Analysis.
- Release engineering designs through various development phases in line with product development processes.
- Identify innovative concepts to strengthen the product portfolio and technology roadmap.
- Provide engineering support to manufacturing for quality improvement, cost optimization, and production efficiency.
- Coordinate effectively with global engineering teams on multinational projects.
- Support compliance with Energy Management System requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

- 6–8 years of experience in Automotive Product Development or Application Engineering.
- Experience working with Tier-1 automotive suppliers or OEMs.
- Strong understanding of Gasoline and Diesel Engine Systems.
- Good knowledge of:
- Powertrain systems
- Timing Chain Systems
- Variable Cam Timing (VCT/VVT)
- Mechanical component design
- Product development lifecycle
- Manufacturing processes
- Materials and metallurgy

- Exposure to the design and development of electrical components, especially solenoids, is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with engineering software such as:

- Creo / Pro-E
- CATIA
- FEA tools
- MATLAB
- Minitab

- Solid understanding of:

- DFMEA
- DVP&R;
- GD&T;
- Engineering calculations
- Root Cause Analysis
- 8D Methodology
- Six Sigma

- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engineering projects and work effectively in cross-functional and global teams.
