Position: Research Associate – Annotation & Research

Location: Ahmedabad (Preferred) / Hybrid

Role Overview

GIAN is seeking a motivated Research Associate to support annotation projects, research activities, and knowledge management. The role involves reviewing and annotating research data, conducting literature reviews, synthesizing information, and supporting multidisciplinary research across agriculture, natural sciences, social sciences, management, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

- Annotate, classify, and validate datasets and research content for AI and research projects.
- Conduct systematic literature reviews and prepare research summaries.
- Collect, organize, analyze, and synthesize information from academic journals, reports, patents, and other credible sources.
- Assist in preparing research reports, concept notes, technical documents, and presentations.
- Support innovation scouting, technology assessment, and documentation of grassroots and technological innovations.
- Maintain research databases and ensure quality and consistency of annotated data.
- Coordinate with project teams, researchers, and external stakeholders to meet project deliverables.




- Assist in organizing research workshops, seminars, and academic activities.

Qualifications
- Master's degree (preferred) or Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Management, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical, research, and documentation skills.
- Experience in conducting literature reviews and synthesizing research findings.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Hindi/Gujarati is an added advantage.

Preferred Experience
- Experience in research projects, data annotation, or AI-related annotation work.
- Teaching Assistant (TA), Research Assistant (RA), internship, or project experience in a university or research institution.
- Familiarity with research methodologies, academic writing, and reference management tools.
- Interest in innovation, rural development, sustainability, entrepreneurship, or technology management.

Experience
- 1–3 years of relevant experience. Fresh postgraduates with robust research aptitude, literature review experience, or Teaching Assistant/Research Assistant experience are encouraged to apply.
