Job Description: A Vice President (VP) of Sponge Iron Division (SID) in a steel manufacturing company is a senior leadership role responsible for directing all aspects of the DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) plant, including production, quality control, cost management, safety compliance, and strategic planning. They drive operational efficiency and manage kiln operations. Key Responsibilities

- Production & Operations: Lead end-to-end DRI/Sponge Iron kiln production to meet company targets, ensuring quality, cost control, and supply chain efficiency.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to optimize raw material usage, improve production processes, and align operations with business goals.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to environmental regulations, health and safety protocols (HSE), and legal standards within the plant.
- Maintenance & Equipment: Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance of kilns and machinery to minimize downtime.
- Team Leadership:



Manage a large workforce, including senior managers and engineers, driving a culture of performance and continuous improvement.

Required Experience & Skills

- Experience: 25 years in the steel industry, with substantial experience in SID/DRI or heavy manufacturing.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of kiln operations, raw material consumption, and steel plant technology.
- Leadership Skills: Solid strategic planning, financial acumen, and ability to manage complex operations.
- Qualifications: Typically a degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related technical field is preferred, often with experience at the GM or VP level.
