Job DescriptionAbout TrueFoundry NEvery production AI system, whether it's powering customer support, writing code, analyzing financial data, or diagnosing medical conditions, needs the same foundational infrastructure. A way to route between models. A way to manage tools and integrate them securely. A way to orchestrate agents and enforce governance. A unified compute layer to run it all. NThat infrastructure layeris being built right now. NWe are looking for a Financial Controller to join our Finance team. NThe Problem We're Solving NCompanies are moving beyond simple chatbots to production agentic systems. These systems route between OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and self-hosted models. They integrate dozens of tools via protocols like MCP. They orchestrate multi-agent workflows where agents coordinate with other agents. The infrastructure to support this doesn't exist yet. You can't just duct-tape together a few API calls and call it production-ready. NYou need a control plane that handles: Nn Intelligent routing with observability, cost policies, and fallback logic N Centralized tool and MCP server management with security and lifecycle controls N Agent orchestration with governance and guardrails N A unified compute layerto run self-hosted models, custom tools, and agents NnAI Gateway is the control plane of five composable components (Prompts, LLM Gateway, MCP Gateway, Guardrails, Agent Gateway) that handle routing, orchestration, and governance. NWe're Series A, backed byIntel Capital and Sequoia. Companies like CVS, Mastercard, Siemens, Paytm, Synopsys, and Zscaler run production AI workloads on our platform. NAbout role: NThis is a foundational hire. TrueFoundry is building its finance function for the first time and the Finance Controller will be the operational backbone of that function. NYou will work directly with the Director Finance and the founding team to establish the financial infrastructure, processes, and controls that will take the company through its Series B and beyond. NThis role is for someone who has been in the room before, has built processes from scratch at a rapid-moving startup, implemented ERP systems, managed cross-border compliance across India and the US, and closed books cleanly every single month regardless of how much else was happening. NThis is a high-ownership,high-impact role designed for an engineer who loves combining world-class systems thinking with real-world execution. NWhat you will do: NControllership & Monthly Close Nn Own end-to-end monthly close for India and US entities with zero surprises. N Maintain general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset register across both entities N Ensure full compliance with Ind AS for the India entity and US GAAP for the US entity N Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidated reporting across Ensemble Labs Inc (US) and Ensemble Labs Private Limited (India) N Prepare audit-ready financials and serve as the primary point of contact for statutory auditors N Build and document accounting policies, internal controls, and approval workflows from scratch NnERP Implementation& Finance Systems Nn Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of the finance technology stack like ERP (NetSuite, Zoho Books, or equivalent), billing (Chargebee, Stripe), payroll (Gusto, Deel), expense management N (Brex, Ramp), and FP&A; tooling N Build the quote-to-cashprocess: clean invoicing, collections, and DSO management from day one N Implement ASC 606 / IndAS 115 compliant revenue recognition for SaaS contracts including deferred N revenue and ARR hygiene N Set up spend controls, procurement policies, and card programs that scale with headcount growth N Support SOC 2 evidence collection for finance-related processes and controls. NnStatutory Compliance & Tax Nn Own all India statutory compliance, GST filing and reconciliation (including OIDAR obligations), TDS deduction and remittance, ROC filings, and transfer pricing documentation between entities N Manage US compliance, federal and state tax filings, Delaware franchise tax, sales tax nexus monitoring, and R&D; tax credit claims under IRC Section 41 N Handle cross-border compliance including withholding tax on payments to foreign vendors and partners, DTAA planning, and permanent establishment risk management N Administer ESOP and captable on Carta grants, exercises, 409A valuations, Form 3921,
and India ESOP compliance under FEMA and Income Tax Act N Run US and India payroll with vendors, ensuring statutory compliance across both jurisdictions NnTreasury & Cash Management Nn Own banking relationships, FX management, and intercompany settlements between India and US entities N Manage accounts payable, vendor onboarding, and procurement, ensuring clean audit trails N Optimise cash yield andmanage liquidity forecasting, keeping the leadership team informed on runway at all times NnWho You Are: Nn CA or CPA qualification; Big 4 or top-tier auditbackground strongly preferred N 8 to 10 years of finance experience with a minimum of 4 years in a fast-paced startup or high-growth technology company N Demonstrable experiencescaling a finance function: you have built processes, implemented controls, and set up systems where none existed before N Hands-on ERP implementation experience you have led or been central to at least one ERP rollout (NetSuite, Zoho Books, Tally, or equivalent) N Strong working knowledge of both Ind AS and US GAAP; multi-entity consolidation is familiar territory N Deep understanding of Indian statutory compliance: GST, TDS, ROC, transfer pricing — and US compliance including federal tax, Delaware, and R&D; credits N Experience working directly with statutory auditors; you have owned the audit process, not just supported it N Fluency with SaaS metrics and revenue recognition under ASC 606 / Ind AS 115 NnGood to haven N Experience with ESOP administration and cap table management on Carta or equivalent N Working knowledge of cross-border tax compliance DTAA, FEMA, OIDAR, withholding tax on foreign payments N Familiarity with SOC 2,ISO 27001, or enterprise security review processes N Exposure to US R&D; credit claims and India GST refund processes N Experience in an AI, infrastructure, SaaS, or developer tools company N Comfort with BI tools and financial modelling beyond standard accounting software NnPerks of Working at TrueFoundry Nn Join a fast-growing Series A, Bay Area-based startup building cutting-edge AI infrastructure.
