Job DescriptionPosition Summary NTourism and Events Queensland is hiring in the position of Business Events Director - India for leading the strategic development, promotion, and growth of the state's business events sector, including meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions (MICE), and corporate events. The role focuses on driving business events visitation, securing high-value incentive business, strengthening industry partnerships, and positioning Queensland as a leading choice for international business events. NReports to: Tourism and Events Queensland - Director, India based in Mumbai and Business Events Director based in Brisbane. NRequirement: Immediate NKey Roles & Responsibilities NBusiness Events Strategy Nn Develop and execute business event strategies that contribute to economic impact, visitor growth, industry engagement, and destination reputation aligned with organisational goals and market priorities. N Identify opportunities to grow incentives business delegate visitation, and economic contribution. N Monitor industry trends, competitive destinations, and emerging market opportunities. N Provide strategic recommendations and market intelligence to Tourism and Events Queensland, identifying growth opportunities and creative initiatives that enhance the competitiveness and visibility of the state's business events portfolio. NnBusiness Development & Market Growth Nn Identify, develop, and secure new business event opportunities across the market. N Build and maintain a strong pipeline of incentive groups for the state. N Lead business development activities including corporate engagements, trade missions, sales calls and industry events. N Develop compelling destination propositions and partnership opportunities that support conversion. N Foster relationships with corporates, travel trade, event planners, incentive houses, associations, and industry decision-makers. NnStakeholder & Industry Engagement Nn Maintain strong relationships with Convention Bureaus, Tourism Australia, Inbound Tour Operators, Travel Companies,



Airlines and Industry partners. N Act as a liaison between the organization and business events stakeholders. N Lead industry engagement initiatives to enhance destination readiness and capability. NnPartnership Development Nn Identify BusinessEvents marketing opportunities and leverage partnerships to maximise impact and return on investment. NnFamiliarisation Visits & Hosting Nn Coordinate and support the delivery of familiarisation visits and hosted programs for key clients and stakeholders. N Manage stakeholder engagement and logistics to ensure successful program execution. N Report on visit outcomes and track business opportunities. N Host visiting clients and stakeholders as required. NnReporting as per company requirements Nn Establish and monitor key business events performance metrics. N Track business development opportunities, leads, conversions, visitation outcomes, and economic impact. N Prepare reports, insights, and recommendations for senior leadership and stakeholders. N Evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. N Other duties as required. N 10+ years of experiencein business events, tourism, destination marketing, sales, or event management. N Demonstrated success insecuring conferences, incentives, and major business events. N Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills. N Excellent presentation,negotiation, and communication skills. N Strategic thinking combined with strong commercial acumen. N International market experience. N Preferred experience working destination marketing organizations, tourism boards, corporate travel or hospitality groups.
