Role & responsibilities

1. Technical Planning & Review

a. Drawing Coordination: Reviewing MEP shop drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Firefighting) to ensure they are clash-free and align with the architectural and structural layouts.

b. Material Approval: Evaluating technical submittals and ensuring that all materials delivered to the site meet the project specifications and approved vendor lists.

c. Quantity Take-offs: Preparing and verifying Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and tracking material consumption to prevent wastage.

2. On-Site Execution & Supervision

a. Installation Oversight: Supervising the installation of HVAC units, electrical panels, piping networks, drainage systems, and fire suppression systems.

b. Quality Control: Ensuring that all works are executed as per the approved Method Statement and comply with international/local building codes (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, or local utility standards).

c. Progress Monitoring: Tracking daily/weekly progress against the project schedule and reporting any delays to the Project Manager.

3. Testing & Commissioning

a. Systems Testing: Conducting pressure tests for plumbing,



insulation resistance tests for cabling, and duct leakage tests for HVAC.

b. Pre-Commissioning: Leading the startup of major equipment like Chillers, Transformers, DG sets, and Fire Pumps.

c. Handover: Preparing "As-Built" drawings and Operation & Maintenance (O&M;) manuals for the client or facility management team.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical - Proficiency in AutoCAD/BIM (Navisworks), Load calculations, and Power distribution.

Management - Labor management, Sub-contractor coordination, and Budget tracking.

Safety - Deep understanding of EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) protocols on-site.

Soft Skills - Problem-solving under pressure and transparent communication with stakeholders.

Typical Workflow Integration

An Executive Engineer spends roughly 60% of their time on the field and 40% in the site office. You act as the bridge between the design consultants and the site technicians, ensuring that what looks good on paper is actually buildable in the shafts and ceiling voids.
