Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

- Procure primary and secondary packing materials such as glass vials, rubber stoppers, aluminum seals, prefilled syringe components, cartons, labels, inserts, corrugated boxes, and other packaging materials.
- Raise purchase requisitions and purchase orders based on production plans and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with Production Planning, Warehouse, Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), and Stores to ensure material availability.
- Develop and maintain relationships with approved suppliers and identify alternate qualified vendors.
- Obtain quotations, perform price comparisons, negotiate commercial terms, and finalize procurement within budget.
- Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance.
- Ensure procurement complies with GMP, regulatory requirements, and company SOPs.
- Follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries and resolve supply-related issues.
- Coordinate with QA for vendor qualification and approval activities.
- Verify invoices,



delivery documents, and purchase records for accuracy.
- Maintain procurement documentation, contracts, and vendor master data.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and excess inventory.
- Support cost reduction initiatives through value engineering and strategic sourcing.
- Participate in audits and provide procurement-related documentation when required.
- Prepare and submit procurement MIS reports, purchase status reports, and supplier performance reports.

Preferred candidate profile

- 5-8 years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement, preferably in injectable manufacturing.
- Experience in purchasing primary and secondary packing materials is preferred.
- Understanding of GMP, GDP, regulatory guidelines, and vendor qualification processes.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
