Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Estimation & Tendering Engineer to manage estimation, costing, and tendering activities for structural steel projects.

The candidate must be capable of reading fabrication and structural drawings, preparing BOQ/BOM/MTO, calculating material quantities, and developing accurate project cost estimates.

This role is strictly focused on estimation, costing, and tendering functions. Candidates having only Quality Control, Production, Site Supervision, Inspection, or Drafting experience without estimation exposure are not suitable for this position.

Key Responsibilities

1. Estimation & Costing

- Study structural steel and fabrication drawings for quantity estimation
- Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities), BOM (Bill of Materials), and MTO (Material Take-Off)
- Calculate steel weight, sections, plates,



bolts, and fabrication quantities
- Prepare detailed project cost estimates including material, fabrication, galvanizing, transportation, and execution cost
- Support cost optimization and estimation accuracy improvement

2. Tendering Support

- Review tender documents, technical specifications, and customer requirements
- Prepare technical and commercial inputs for tender submissions
- Support bid preparation and costing sheets for project proposals
- Coordinate with internal teams for vendor and costing inputs
- Evaluate project scope and commercial risks during bidding

3. Technical Coordination

- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams for technical clarification
- Support drawing approval and estimation-related discussions
- Participate in client meetings for technical and costing discussions when required
- Assist project execution team with estimation inputs

4. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain estimation sheets, BOQ/BOM records, and costing documents
- Prepare project-wise estimation reports and summaries
- Maintain tender documentation and version control
- Ensure proper record keeping of all estimation activities

Technical Competencies

- Strong knowledge of Structural Steel Fabrication
- Expertise in BOQ,



BOM, and Material Take-Off (MTO)
- Ability to calculate steel quantity and project costing from drawings
- Understanding of fabrication processes and material specifications
- Knowledge of transmission line towers and substation structures will be preferred
- Solid proficiency in MS Excel

Eligibility Criteria

Education

- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

· 2-5 years of experience in:

o Structural Steel Estimation

o Tendering & Costing

o EPC / Fabrication Projects

o Transmission Line Tower / Substation Projects

Industry Preference

Preference will be given to candidates from:
