Job Summary

The Nursing Supervisor oversees nursing staff and daily patient care operations to ensure high-quality, safe, and effective healthcare services. The role involves supervising nursing personnel, coordinating patient care activities, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting clinical excellence across assigned units or shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Supervision

- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during assigned shifts.
- Monitor patient care delivery to ensure compliance with clinical standards and policies.
- Provide guidance and support to nurses in managing complex patient care situations.
- Assist in resolving clinical and operational issues.

Staff Management

- Assign duties and schedules to nursing personnel.
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
- Participate in recruitment, orientation, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and coordinate shift coverage.

Quality & Patient Safety

- Promote patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor adherence to infection control, medication administration, and patient care protocols.




- Investigate incidents, complaints, and adverse events and prepare reports.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.

Operational Management

- Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
- Manage resources, supplies, and equipment effectively.
- Collaborate with physicians, department heads, and multidisciplinary teams.

Communication & Leadership

- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and management.
- Conduct shift briefings and staff meetings.
- Support conflict resolution and foster a positive work environment.
- Lead emergency response and crisis management activities when required.

Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
