- Responsibilities
- Conduct stage-wise inspection of pressure parts, piping, and boiler components as per IBR, ASME, approved drawings, and QAP.
- Perform and monitor NDT activities (UT, RT, DPT, MPT, PMI, Hardness Testing as applicable) and review test reports.
- Supervise Hydrostatic, Pneumatic, and Leak Tests of boilers and pressure parts.
- Ensure welding quality by verifying WPS, PQR, WPQ/Welder Qualifications, welding parameters, and consumables.
- Carry out inspection of incoming raw materials including plates, pipes, tubes, flanges, valves, fittings, and bought-out items.
- Monitor in-process quality during cutting, fit-up, welding, machining, fabrication, assembly, and final inspection.
- Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Inspection Reports, and Quality Records.
- Ensure compliance with IBR, ASME, ISO 9001, customer specifications, and company quality standards.
- Coordinate inspections with IBR Authorities, Third-Party Inspection Agencies (TPI), and customer representatives.
- Verify dimensional accuracy, weld quality, material traceability, and identification throughout the manufacturing process.
- Ensure calibration and proper maintenance of measuring instruments, gauges, and inspection equipment.
- Raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Handle customer inspections, resolve quality issues, and ensure timely closure of observations.
- Support internal, external, customer, ISO, and IBR audits by maintaining complete quality documentation.
- Work closely with the Design, Production, Planning,
Purchase, and Site Teams to ensure product quality and timely project execution.
- Ensure all inspection records, test certificates, and manufacturing documents are maintained for final dossier submission.
- Required Skills
- Sound knowledge of IBR, ASME Section I, Section VIII, Section IX, ISO 9001, and boiler manufacturing practices.
- Strong understanding of pressure vessel, boiler fabrication, welding, and inspection processes.
- Ability to read and interpret GA Drawings, Fabrication Drawings, P&IDs;, Isometric Drawings, and Welding Drawings.
- Experience in NDT inspection, welding inspection, dimensional inspection, and quality documentation.
- Knowledge of material traceability, mill test certificates (MTC), and quality records.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Dial Gauge, etc.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on experience in RCA and CAPA.
- Good communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word); knowledge of ERP/SAP is an added advantage.
- Preferred Qualification
- B.Tech/B.E. or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in Boiler, Pressure Vessel, Heat Exchanger, or Heavy Fabrication Industry.
- ASNT Level II / CSWIP / Welding Inspection Certification will be an added advantage.

- ADiploma/ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering
