Job Summary
The Medical Record Technician will be responsible for organizing, maintaining, and safeguarding patient medical records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with hospital policies and applicable healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and organize patient medical records in both physical and electronic formats
- Ensure timely and accurate filing, retrieval, and updating of patient records
- Verify records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Handle release of medical information requests in line with confidentiality protocols
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure records are updated promptly




- Maintain data integrity within the Hospital Management System / EMR software
- Prepare reports and statistics related to patient records as required
- Ensure compliance with data protection and medical record retention policies
- Assist in audits and quality checks of medical documentation

Requirements

- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Record Technician or in a similar role within a hospital/healthcare setting
- Diploma/Degree in Medical Record Technology, Health Information Management, or related field
- Familiarity with medical terminology and hospital record-keeping systems
- Proficiency in MS Office and Hospital Management/EMR software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information
- Good communication and coordination skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of healthcare compliance and data privacy regulations
