The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for instrumentation and fluid/flow control projects.
This role involves analyzing project specifications, assessing material and labour costs, and collaborating with sales and engineering teams to develop competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Estimate Preparation:
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for instrumentation and fluid/flow control solutions.
- Identify and quantify all materials, labour, and equipment needed for the project.
2. Technical Evaluation:
- Assess the technical requirements and ensure compatibility with proposed solutions.
- Liaise with suppliers for pricing and lead times on components and systems.
3. Bid Development:
- Develop comprehensive bids and proposals.
- Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to ensure estimates meet client requirements and project timelines.
4. Cost Analysis:
- Perform cost analysis and risk assessments.
- Review and refine estimates based on project feedback and historical data.
5. Client Interaction:
- Present and explain estimates to clients.
- Address any client inquiries and provide technical support during the bidding process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Instrumentation, Mechanical)
- 3+ years of experience in estimation within the instrumentation or fluid industry.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation and fluid systems and components.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
