The Lead Tableau Developer is a senior BI professional responsible for leading Tableau initiatives, defining visualization standards, and delivering scalable, high-performance analytics solutions. Key Responsibilities
Tableau Solution Leadership
- Lead end-to-end Tableau solution delivery (requirements to production support)
- Define dashboard standards, best practices, and performance optimization guidelines
- Ensure scalability, maintainability, and governance compliance
Dashboard & Analytics Development
- Develop complex, interactive dashboards using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud
- Build advanced calculations (LOD expressions, table calculations, parameters, actions)
- Design KPI-driven dashboards aligned with business objectives
Data & SQL
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries across multiple sources
- Collaborate with data engineering teams on data modeling and ETL logic
- Support integrations with data warehouses and cloud platforms
Governance & Performance
- Optimize extracts, live connections, and server performance
- Implement data security, row-level security (RLS), and access controls
- Ensure adherence to enterprise BI governance standards
Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor developers and conduct design/code reviews

Must Have Skills
- 6–9+ years of BI / analytics experience
- 5+ years of strong hands-on Tableau development experience
- Expert-level proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud
- Advanced SQL skills (query optimization, joins, aggregations, performance tuning)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling
- Experience leading Tableau projects or small BI teams
